Kraig Kilby is a Jazz artist from California. Kraig started playing trombone and studying music at the early age of 9 in Denver, Colorado. Then he moved with his to Germany at the age of 12 where his music career really started to take shape. By 14 he was playing trombone in a Germany-American symphony. At the same time he started to play the piano. He later received a degree in Music Performance.
He has performed with several artists including Bill Medley, The O’Jays, Michael Bloomfield, Otis Clay, Johnny Taylor, Albert Collins, Etta James and many more! Kraig has been in the recording studio on and off for 30 years. He was included on a 1995 Grammy Award, winning album for Etta James.
Along with performing and recording over the years with various artists, he has been cultivating his own original music too, featuring the trombone and keyboards. Kraig’s debut album, entitled ‘Satori’, features the Herbie Hancock legends Paul Jackson on bass and Michael Clark on drums. It was nominated for the title track from the Hollywood Music in Media Awards.
