Aaron Simmons Jr. (aka JR Simmons) was born and raised in Panama City Florida is an american multi-genre singer/songwriter. From an early age, he was always surrounded by music, his grandparents owned a local bar that featured local DJs’ throughout the week and featured occasional band acts over the years. His first real interest in music came in middle school when he joined the school’s marching band and choir. He began playing trombone and baritone in elementary school and continued with his instrument throughout high school. There, he also was able to make the McDonald’s all american high school band and participated in local state choir competitions. He performed in local singing talent shows including one at the city community college while he was a student there. Later, he went off to college to pursue a degree and graduated with a degree in business from Troy State university. Knowing that music was his passion, he began participating in open mic nights at local bars and clubs and gained a lot of local attention after singing a variety of music genres. Folks were really amazed at his stylistic ability to cover country and rock tunes. He was also selected to compete in the Colgate/ Texaco country showdown national singing competitions. He later joined a couple of southern rock bands as a lead singer. In 2012, he began writing his own song lyrics and productions. His first single release is called “This Country Town.” The song is about the elements of the earth and the joy of living in a small country town. He is currently involved in music projects and working with other very talented music producers and song writers to create great music.
