Cooper Philip’s “Movin’ On (April Fool)” reminds me of those songs that I secretly love listening to when I’m having one of those days and I want to make it worse–HAH. You know what I’m talking about. Those songs that are dedicated to nasty, messy, heartbreaking relationships that should’ve ended five seconds into hello. Everyone has experienced some sort of heartbreak and expel it from themselves in whatever way they use to cope–MOST. (Yea, you! Get over it.) And then there are those select people/artists that are able to manipulate dark feelings that we normally hide into a beautiful exposed scar that we all seem to share. When an artist has that talent, it is painfully pleasurable–for me. A plus is being given the chance to belt out the finger to the wrong-doer, whether they hear it or not. This isn’t something I come across often, but when I do, it’s on repeat. This is exactly what “Movin’ On (April Fool)” does for me on my pitiful days and I’m sure will be the same for those with a bleeding heart. Cooper Philip’s soulful voice paired with lyrics of “Movin’ On” from a failed love is put together well with its bass-loving accompaniment. Listen for yourselves. Cooper Philip is one to keep an eye out for!
