Gregg Stewart grew up in New Jersey before moving to California as a teen to pursue his career in art. After a few successful stints in various bands, he finally formed his own independent label and started to release his own solo work. He writes all of his own music and often works with other artists in the Los Angeles area.
The latest release for Stewart is the single ‘Starman’ off the new album ‘Twenty Sixteen’ which was released August 15th, 2017. The concept of this album is to pay homage to some of his favorite musicians, whom unfortunately left us too soon in 2016. He provides his own folk rock twist on these classics by covering 14 different tracks in this album. ‘Starman’ is of course a cover of the famous David Bowie track.
It’s always really sad when you hear another monumental artist is gone, and 2016 left us with that feeling far too often. But it’s really cool that Gregg Stewart took his time to pay tribute to these icons in a way that I’m sure they’d truly appreciate. Check out his music on his website and grab the album ‘Twenty Sixteen’ on all major digital outlets.
