MuzicNotez Crew: First off, it’s an honor to be doing this interview with you PressDon, thanks for taking the time to sit down with us.
What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?
PressDon: What motivated me was just the things i was going through as a kid, I used it as a way to express how i was feeling at the time. Creating music was my outlet. I started around age 12.
MuzicNotez Crew: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?
PressDon: Jadakiss, Fabolous, coldplay, Big L, The jacka (westcoast)DMX
MuzicNotez Crew: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?
PressDon: My ultimate goal is to be able to change lives threw my story and give a message that no matter how messed up things are u gotta keep pushing for success, give the people hope.
MuzicNotez Crew: What’s the greatest concert you’ve ever been to or performed?
PressDon: I would have to say 2005 the young jeezy thug motivation 101 tour, we opened up for him, we got alot of love,and when jezzy came out the crowd went stupid, I was like damn that must be a good feeling to get so much love in a time of so much hate.
MuzicNotez Crew: You’re currently working on your next release ‘Living Legend’ which is set to release this summer. What can you tell us about this? What can we expect from it?
PressDon: Living legend is about where im at now and where I’ve been to get where im at, you can expect a true story of a real grinder, good production no half way bs.
MuzicNotez Crew: You started your own label Don Royal Entertainment. What has that experience been like? What sets your label apart?
PressDon: It taught me do yo own thing, if u want it done right, and that the business part is just as important of having the skill, to me the business is more important actually.
MuzicNotez Crew: Your album ‘Fantasy Island’ was awarded ‘Album Of The Year’ at the 2012 Ohio Hip Hop awards. How’s it feel to have your hard work and music rewarded like that?
PressDon: It was a great accomplishment, shout out to my agent Joe me and him worked hard to get that award, but that’s only the beginning, it just gave me insight to whats ahead.
MuzicNotez Crew: What else are you working on? What can we expect to see and hear from you in the future?
PressDon: I’m working on movies, as I still focus on music, and working on doing some investing in group homes for the less fortunate kids.
