Soren Bryce

  • MuzicNotez: First off, it’s an honor to be doing this interview with you Soren, thanks for taking the time to sit down with us.

What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?

    • Soren Bryce: Well, it’s actually kind of an embarrassing story. When I was in middle school I liked this boy who played guitar, so I learned to impress him. Yes, I know, how cliché of me. But it became so much more once I realized how much I enjoyed writing. Before guitar though I had played violin for years in the orchestra.
  • MuzicNotez: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?
    • Soren Bryce: I think that Coldplay, City and Colour, and Daughter are definitely some of my biggest influences. Their lyrics are just so personal and story-like, which is what I strive for.
  • MuzicNotez: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?

    • Soren Bryce: I love love LOVE playing gigs. Whether it’s at a packed club or a coffee house, I love the atmosphere and the feeling I get from putting my music out there. I hope I continue playing shows and get some music recorded for everyone to listen to soon! My ultimate goal would probably be to tour around Europe, since I’m obsessed with anything British. :)
  • MuzicNotez: What’s the greatest concert you’ve ever been to or performed?
    • Soren Bryce: I think the greatest concert I’ve ever performed was my gig at the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood. It was a packed house, and it was really my first big show since moving to LA. I loved it and loved the audience.
  • MuzicNotez: You performed live for the first time on stage at the age of 16 at the world famous Whiskey a Go-Go. That must have been a huge honor, what was the experience like for you?
    • Soren Bryce: It was honestly insane. So surreal. Looking back, I can see how far I have come in just this short year and I couldn’t have done it without all this lovely support.
  • MuzicNotez: Your first performance soon after lead to your first award at the Artists In Music Awards. What kind of confidence did that give you to start your career?
    • Soren Bryce: I was so shocked when I won! I had some great competition. I think it not only gave me confidence, but an edge when putting my name out there. It’s such a great title to attach to things haha.

  • MuzicNotez: You’re a self taught guitarist, advanced violinist, talented vocalist, songwriter and actress! Whatever you do you will have a bright future, if it goes your way… how would you like it to go?
    • Soren Bryce: I honestly just want to share my music with the people willing to listen. Whether that be through shows or records, I want people to feel like they are seeing a bit of my soul in every song, and like they know me personally.
  • MuzicNotez: In addition to everything else, you also host your own weekly web show for Fanlala.com. What’s this show about?
    • Soren Bryce: This show is such a fun thing to shoot because I get to talk about hilarious viral videos out on the internet that week. It’s called Soren’s playlist and it airs every monday, wednesday, and friday on youtube :)
  • MuzicNotez: Working on anything new? What can we expect from you in the future?
    • Soren Bryce: Well, I’m currently in the studio working on some songs. I’ve also just been trying to collaborate with people and write a lot because not only is it fun, it could turn out to be a hit!
  • MuzicNotez: Anything else you wish to say about yourself or your music? Any message for your fans?
    • Soren Bryce: I just want to say that I’m so thankful to be in the position I am in. A few years ago I would have never expected to be here! And now I’m a three time award winner through the artists in music awards. For the fans: if there is anything you wish to do, just keep going at it if it’s something you love. Happiness is really the thing to aim for in life. Thanks for the interview!
