Downie is from a different time. She’s either greeting us from the past or blessing us with the future! Okay, I may be exaggerating a bit there, but I’m not too far off. Downie is a singer-songwriter from Grand Haven, Michigan who’s been blessing the world with her vision of sound since she was a little girl. Her voice is a pleasant listen with a combination of strong and soft soulful tones. Now pair Downie’s vocals with a beautiful arrangement of sax, piano, and percussions, and you’ve got Downie’s smooth jazz/soul/pop album, “I Would Lose Myself In You”.
The title track, “I Would Lose Myself In You”, is a story of a love, or one that was lost but not forgotten. Downie’s wooing entangles you into a web of modulated variations and the soft piano and percussions that accompany her vocals, will lead you by hand down the path of its setting.
If you are more visual, here’s some eye noms on Downie’s song “Today”.
