  • MuzicNotez: First off, it’s an honor to be doing this interview with you, thanks for taking the time to sit down with us.

You go by Zeta ShaM, where did that name come from?

    • Zeta ShaM: Well I have always went by ShaM. That has stuck with me since the beginning of high school from one of my best friends. As I became more serious about making music as an artist, I changed my rap name to ShaM. I decided to make that mean something and describe me as an artist, and so S.H.A.M means Some Hear A Meaning. And, that I believe is the definition for all music in general. Everyone judges your art in his or her own way. But, as time passed and I became a signed artist by TigerBloodMuzik Uk , I had to make myself even more unique so that I was easily searched and found on the internet. I am currently apart of a movement called Zeta Class Music Group as well that was created by another friend of mine and so it was only right that I added the Zeta along with ShaM to make the full name.
  • MuzicNotez: What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?
    • Zeta ShaM: My friends! I just simply thought there were super cool and I wasn’t. I started in junior high believe it or not at the age of 12. Everyday after school I would go to their house and do homework while they wrote rhymes and recorded and I always thought to myself man I can do that too! Homework can wait! So one day I asked to do a song with them and it became history in the making since that day. I wasn’t very good at all and it took me along time to find myself as an artist but I just fell in love with the art and the process of creating a song. So, that alone was always my motivation to get better.
  • MuzicNotez: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?
    • Zeta ShaM: This answer might be shocking, but I am a hip hop artist. But, I wish I were a singer because I love melody. I cater a lot of the songs I make to melody although I rap. I can hold a tune, but I am no singer. I grew up mostly listening to R&B, Blues, and Hip Hop. My favorite artist of all time is Michael Jackson. My favorite R&B artist right now is Chris Brown. My favorite rapper of all time is 2-Pac. My favorite rappers right now are Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Big Sean, ASAP Rocky, Joey Badass, and J-Cole. But, I’m more of a fan in that sense. I don’t listen to too much rap music because I feel like I will start to copy what someone else does, so I listen from a distance and take some stuff in. Mostly, I have always tried to figure out my own path to making music. But, a lot has influenced me.
