Rocklahoma, America’s Biggest Memorial Day Weekend Party, takes place on May 27, 28 & 29 at “Catch The Fever” Festival Grounds in Pryor, OK just outside Tulsa. Rocklahoma celebrates its 10th Anniversary in 2016 with a lineup of the best current rock artists and classic bands, including Scorpions, Disturbed, Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Megadeth, Chevelle, 3 Doors Down, SIXX:A.M., Collective Soul, Sebastian Bach, Great White, Bullet For My Valentine, and over 75 others.
Appearing for their first time at Rocklahoma, in a lineup consisting of almost exclusively male musicians, Moxy and The Influence is the only all-female band at the three-day event. They will hit the stage at 5pm on Thursday, May 26 for the Retrospect-Camp Jager pre-party event, and then again at the festival on Sunday, May 29th on the Retrospect Stage at 3pm.
Hailing from Orange County, CA, Moxy and The Influence is a dynamic, award-winning all-female rock band fronted by 18-year old powerhouse vocalist Moxy Anne. Riff-slaying guitarist Sydney Ellen (20) has an electrifying stage presence that belies her size, and classically-trained bassist Shea Hamilton (17) keeps the crowd pumping with a solid rhythm. 2013 “Hit Like a Girl” contest winner Alexey Poblete (13) rounds out the group with a hard-hitting style and flair all her own (Alexey is mentored by KISS drummer Eric Singer). Their original sound is a modern mix of all that was great in the 80’s hard rock scene, and all that continues to move audiences today. With catchy original songs, a few favorite cover tunes, and a head-banging, energetic and engaging stage performance, it doesn’t take long for Moxy and The Influence to win over a crowd.
Moxy and The Influence has been named on Music Connection Magazine’s Hot 100 Live Unsigned Artists, they won the 2014 HMMA Awards Rock Song of the Year, and they were a 2014 OC Music Awards People’s Choice Award Nominee. They are releasing their new EP, “The Best Revenge,” on May 15th. Jeremy Valentyne and Brandon Wolfe of the band New Year’s Day collaborated with Moxy and The Influence on two of the songs on their new EP.
