MuzicNotez: What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?

  • Samyo: I love to write music, and make up songs. What really motivated me was the first time I recorded a track and my first mixtape In My Feelings. I started music at 8, when I was given my first keyboard.

MuzicNotez: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?

  • Samyo: I listen to many artists and genres. My biggest influence was the group The Roots, their music made really hype The Lesson Part 3. I listen to alot of Micheal Jackson, Naz, Lauran Hill, Busta Rymes, JayZ, Logic, etc.

MuzicNotez: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?

  • Samyo: My ultimate goal is to be heard around the world. To keep making great music. I know as a new artist I need to work hard and produce the best music I can. I want to say to everyone who’s listening never give up on anything in life. Dreams come true when you work hard for it.

MuzicNotez: What’s the greatest concert you’ve ever been to or performed?

  • Samyo: I would have to say Voltage nightclub in PA. That night me and my friend DjIce took over the club that night.

MuzicNotez: Your latest release is the music video for ‘Ride or Die’, whats this track mean to you?

  • Samyo: This track Ride or Die is a classic to me. It gives you that melodic vibe. The hook brings you in and the verse tells a story.


MuzicNotez: You’re about to drop your album ‘State of Mind’ in April. What can you tell us about this album?

  • Samyo: This album “State of Mind” will be the hottest album of the year. Each track brings something different. From my style of rapping to singing, too being hype and getting in my feelings. This is my state of mind can you get that.

MuzicNotez: The pandemic has affected the entertainment industry hard as anybody. How have you had to adapt through this as an artist?

  • Samyo: By being very careful. Cleaning my hands and wearing a mask. Keeping the studio sanitised before and after recording. Doing podcasts coming soon.

MuzicNotez: What else are you working on? What can we expect to see and hear from you in the future?

  • Samyo: I’m working on a mixtape and second album. I will be releasing new tracks from the single, more videos on Youtube and more.

MuzicNotez: Anything else you wish to say about yourself or your music? Any message for your fans?

  • Samyo: I would like to say I hope you enjoy the music I create and Black-Camp Entertainment and what we have to offer.
