• MuzicNotez: First off, it’s an honor to be doing this interview with you, thanks for taking the time to sit down with us.
What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?

    • Piyasiri: The honor is mine Nick! I’ve been interested in music since forever. I wrote my first song to our cat when I was 3 years old. When I was 5 I started taking piano lessons. In high school I fell in love with the DJ profession and started out playing music in clubs in Sweden.
  • MuzicNotez: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?
    • Piyasiri: The turning point to Electro House was David Guetta’s track “Love Is Gone”. The song “Greyhound” by Swedish House Mafia is still one of my favorite tracks. I guess my music is also influenced by Djs like Hard Rock Sofa, Dada Life, Afrojack, Will Sparks, and TJR cause I think they are great Djs!
  • MuzicNotez: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?
    • Piyasiri: The goal is of course being able to do what I love full time, which is making music. Although making money is not the most important thing to me. When people appreciates my music and dance like crazy to it, that’s the best feeling ever for me!
  • MuzicNotez: What’s the greatest concert you’ve ever been to or performed?
    • Piyasiri: Performing on a boat cruise in front of more than a thousand people was an epic experience. People danced like crazy, reaching for the sky and were jumping up and down to the beat.
  • MuzicNotez: You used to make Eurodance music, however now you’re creating Electro House. What sparked this change, and what do you consider the biggest differences between the genres to be?
    • Piyasiri: I began making Eurodance music 2005. It wasn’t until much later I discovered Electro House music and started producing it. The Eurodance music was so depending on vocals and melodies, which is fun in a way but Electro House music is more about the groove, the beat and sound. A cool lead synth can make the entire track and you feel right away what works or not. Like when you’ve created a short loop, put it aside for a day and then listens to it and you simply must get up and dance to it. Then you know it’s gonna be appreciated by your fans.
  • MuzicNotez: You just released a new album entitled ‘Let’s Go’ December 30th of 2014. How have you evolved in your new genre since your previous release ‘Time To Dance’? What makes this album special to you?
    • Piyasiri: Actually “Let’s Go” is a compilation album with singles and Ep’s put together launched worldwide through CD Baby. My sound is still pretty much the same as the album Time To Dance.

  • MuzicNotez: You’re already working on your next album ‘A New Beginning’, what’s the motivation behind this? Also it’s being funded through Kickstarter, do you have a link for that yet?
    • Piyasiri: The album A New Beginning will be something new. A big variety of styles on one album. It will contain remakes of songs from my first Eurodance album. I can reveal that my song “Little Girl” is undergoing a makeover and will be on the new album. The Kickstarter campaign is not finished yet but it will be announced on my fan pages as soon as it is. This is a new thing for me and I think it’s cool to have the album sponsored by my fans. The money pledged will go to making CDs.
  • MuzicNotez: What else are you working on? What can we expect to see and hear from you in the future?
    • Piyasiri: At the moment much of my time is spent promoting the album “Let’s Go” and of course work on the new album. There is a short teaser out on my Soundcloud page. The new song is called “Underground” Soundcloud.com/Piyasiri/Undergroundteaser
  • MuzicNotez: Anything else you wish to say about yourself or your music? Any message for your fans?
    • Piyasiri: The best way to support me and my music is to promote it. Share links to my music, news and encourage people to listen to my music on sites like Spotify. The second best way is to buy my music on your favorite online store cause it will fund my future releases. Many thanks to MuzicNotez for taking an interest in my music!
