Vik Valda

  • MuzicNotez: First off, it’s an honor to be doing this interview with you Vik, thanks for taking the time to sit down with us.

What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?

    • Vik Valda: Well… I love to enjoy life, to have fun, to have a good time, to do whatever my heart wants! Always! That´s why I dedicate my life to the thing I love must… MUSIC! Music has been my life engine all the time!

As a kid I felt music would be an important part of my life, but when I was a teenager I knew it! I really knew music would be my life! So I said to myself “Vik, If you want this, you need to do it right” and since that moment I worked harder in my music classes and, once I finished high school, decided to study “Musical Production” in order to make the music I love in the way I really feel it and be able to share my joy for music with everybody!

  • MuzicNotez: What’s the greatest concert you’ve ever been to or performed?
    • Vik Valda: All the concerts I´ve performed have been great to me! Of course, there are shows I´ve enjoyed the most; like the concerts I performed in Mexico city´s Downtown and Mexico city´s Word Trade Center, all the people were partying with me and having a good time! Those concerts were really cool!
  • MuzicNotez: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?
    • Vik Valda: Good question! Well, I wish to continue making music that makes people happy, music that makes people have a great time, music that makes people feel that life is the biggest party of all!
  • MuzicNotez: Out of all your songs or albums… do you have a favorite? What is it? And why?
    • Vik Valda: Yeah! I could say that “Shake da house” is my favorite one because it was the first song I composed, when I was a teenager, to be played in a concert. In that time it was an instrumental song and had another name (I have the demo tape of it!), but it is at this moment, that I could finally structure and arrange the song, and add the lyrics in a way that represents the pictures and images I had in my head at the time I was composing it. I really enjoy playing this song!

  • MuzicNotez: Your videos for ‘Shake Da House’ and ‘Funk With U’ embody your music’s party atmosphere and typically take place in clubs. How did you go about creating these videos?
    • Vik Valda: For these videos I wanted people to feel the party essence of the songs, that´s why the club scene is highlighted in them. Some friends helped me with the making process, it was really fun! We had a great time! Of course, if there are beauty ladies and cool songs, the fun is a guarantee!
  • MuzicNotez: Are you an avid fan of the club scene? You describe your music as ‘Dance Rock’, do you like to dance yourself?
    • Vik Valda: Yeah! I´m an avid fan of the club scene and of course I´m a true fan of parties! You don´t know what´s going to happen in a wild party or in a crowded club! The night is too short! That´s why I really enjoy to dance, when you´re dancing cool songs in an awesome party or club you really have the time of your life!
  • MuzicNotez: Combining electronic dance music and rock makes for an explosive combination. Think you’ll ever do work in any other genres?
    • Vik Valda: I’m open to music. I like to let music flow itself; if a song commands you to play it in a specific genre, let’s obey the song! (hahaha!) Of course, If I can add some cool beats in the back of the song, It would sound better to me! (hahaha!)
  • MuzicNotez: Anything new coming up from you?
    • Vik Valda: I’m very excited because this November I’m releasing my new party song “Mine tonight” and this November 23rd I´m performing a concert in Coyoacán, the artistic district of Mexico city, it will be great!
  • MuzicNotez: Anything else you wish to say about yourself or your music? Any message for your fans?
    • Vik Valda: Guys, remember that life is the biggest party of all! So LIVE the party! LOVE the party! BE the party! Always! Anywhere! Anytime! I´ll see you soon!
